ISLE-MILE (Academia Sinica, INRIA, Pisa, TITECH)

An example of the use of RDF and OWL for the standardized specification of language resources is the ISLE -MILE (Multilingual ISLE Lexical Entry) model for lexical representation. The model is based on an open, core set of “data categories” for the specification of language (in this case, lexical) objects that content providers can use for the description, creation, management, and delivery of their language resources, thereby creating semantic interoperability. New data categories can be created and linked to the core set, ensuring a flexible but stable model.
