The purpose of LT-World is to serve as a comprehensive information resource for the scientific community as well as for industrial R&D and marketing on approaches, methods, projects, experts, resources, products, conferences and organizations in nearly all areas of language technology. LT-world is based on an underlying multidimensional conceptual organization of the information represented as a relational ontology of all relevant classes of informational objects in the language technology field. On the data level of LT-World all these objects are classified according to the ontology. The LT-World ontology is compliant with common metadata standards, such as DublinCore, as well as with related domain-specific metadata initiatives such as OLAC.
